"Did you take the golf cart?"

'Hello"
"Did you take the golf cart?"
"No..."
"Well, the garage door is open and it is missing."
"Call the Sheriff, I'll be right over

So we were at plan B before I even left home.

On the way there Mom called.  Someone she knows called to tell her there was a pickup stuck in the field south of her house.
He'd been asked to pull it out, but he didn't have that capability.

Short version, the golf cart has been recovered.
The young man who 'borrowed' the golf cart apparently also "borrowed" the truck and enough gas money to fill the tank several times.   The owner of the truck was not as ... ummmm ... understanding as Mom.

Mom now has a infrared camera system with a DVR controller/recorder.  It looks similar to this:
It sees in the dark, records when motion is detected, and if we can get it figured out can be accessed online.

Are ya busy ?

Cell phone rings.

"I'm up here at (oldest couple in church)'s house.  They really have a mess.  Could you bring up your bucket truck?"

What am I going to do, say no?

"Do we need to bring a truck to haul with?"
"Probably would be a good idea"

So Aman and I loaded up and headed toward Marshall.  I didn't take enough pictures.  As we neared the first curve south of Marshall we saw a shed roof upside down.  Across the road a metal tank was on its side up against a building.  At the edge of town the old barn at Jane Strohm's no longer needed torn down, just picked up.  The house had damages as well.

The south end of town kind of looked like a war zone. Trees down, buildings torn up, and it all looked like straight line winds,  No rotation, everything fell the same direction.
Here are a couple views from the bucket truck.

East of town on Vine street a shed was scattered across a field.

Marshall Utilities assisted by City of Casey trucks were replacing over a half dozen poles on the highway just north of the first street in town.
You saw a lot of this around town
Oh, and I have proof Aman was working
We did what we could for them.  There is still a big limb on the garage, but they were told it was best to leave it until the insurance adjuster could see it.
But as far as I know nobody was injured.  And it looks like Marshall made out pretty well.  Look here at some photos from around the Wabash Valley

Lenore would not have liked it

I planted 2 fields at the Prust house last week.  Lenore would not have liked it.  Too cold ... too wet ... and I didn't work it.

No, she wouldn't have liked this:
I planted them without doing any tillage
There were a few places I kind of doubted my sanity
One of the problems was caused by old wheat straw.
In some places the straw was so rotten it just tore off the roots.  I found slowing to 3 1/2 MPH let the straw work through.

No, Lenore would not have liked it.

Tractor Drive results

I think everyone considered it a success.  If you want pictures I suggest going to http://www.schwartzkopf.org/david/2011_0430_TractorBenefit/index.html  David came down from Indy and took over 330 photos.Tractors, people, West Union, Moonshine Store, LOTS off pictures.  Here are a few

The auction raised over $20,000.  The John Deere A brought $10,000
Over 50 tractors participated from as far away as Champaign.  It was a good thing.
